# Minimalistic fall decor DIY | cheese board for 1, tomato soup with wild rice

## Embracing the Autumn Season

To be honest, embracing the autumn season doesn’t come naturally to me. I have to make an extra effort to make this season more enjoyable. I decided to add some fall decor to help set the right ambiance.

## Outdoor Expedition for Materials

I embarked on a small outdoor expedition in search of suitable materials for my fall decorations. It was a beautiful day, with the sun still having the power to keep me warm despite the strong wind.

## Creating a Cheese Board

A family friend brought a variety of Italian cheeses, so I decided to create a proper cheese board. Who says you can’t have a cheese board for one? I prefer bold and tangy flavors like parmesan, gorgonzola, camembert, and cambozola.

## Adding Seasonal Touches

Honey, fig jam, fresh figs, and grapes are essential accompaniments to the cheese board. I’m not a fan of wine, so I opted for pomegranate juice instead.

## Flower Arrangement Therapy

I visited a flower shop to buy eucalyptus for an arrangement. The neutral colors of eucalyptus are so soothing, and the process of arranging them is therapeutic.

## Cozy Tomato Soup

As the weather cools down, I crave warm soups. I made a tomato soup with lentils, smoked paprika, oregano, and a touch of chili flakes. I also cooked wild rice to add texture to the creamy soup.

## Ricotta Dessert

I used leftover ricotta to make a quick dessert inspired by classic cannoli filling, with orange zest and juice. A sprinkle of powdered sugar, parmesan shavings, and freshly ground pepper completed the meal.

## Care for Plants

I took care of my plants that thrived during the summer, adding variety and support to my monstera plant. I also ordered a straw basket for one of the plants to enhance my fall arrangements.

## Enjoying a Cozy Evening

I ended the day with a pleasant evening reading a compilation of letters by Shaun Usher. The book contains scans of real letters, making the reading experience even more special.

Embracing the autumn season with minimalistic decor and cozy meals can make this time of year more enjoyable. Thank you for watching and have a great day!
