# Persona 5 Strikers: A Review
## A New Adventure with the Phantom Thieves
Persona 5 Royal quickly stole my heart and took over a lot of my gaming playtime in 2020. The game quickly became one of my absolute favorites of all time, with style oozing from every orifice. I fell in love with the story, the art direction, the characters, the themes, the music, and most of all, the gameplay itself. It was a surprise hit that I was not expecting to enjoy as much as I did and made me want to explore more into the Persona franchise.
## Persona 5 Strikers: A Spin-Off Sequel
Persona 5 Strikers is more of a spin-off title with a sequel story than it is a full-on sequel to the original game. Developed by Koei-Tecmo, the game is actually a cross-over between Persona 5 and the Dynasty Warriors franchise, blending together the story structure and presentation of Persona 5 with the high-intensity action of a Musou game. Unlike other Warriors games, Persona 5 Strikers takes a drastically different approach to gameplay, focusing heavily on the source material.
## The Story Continues
It’s been 4 months since the end of Persona 5, and Joker returns to Tokyo to spend Summer vacation with the Phantom Thieves. While trying to plan something fun that the group could do together, they accidentally discover another entrance to the Metaverse through an app called EMMA. The crew comes out of retirement to clear their name in the most summer vacation way possible – a road trip!
## A Blend of Story and Action
Much like the base game, you will be spending roughly half of your time with the story in Persona 5 Strikers. The game allows players to see the Phantom Thieves in a new light, just hanging out and being friends, a dynamic that was missing in the original Persona 5. While the story and writing may not be as engaging or interesting as the original game, the game still captures the essence of the Phantom Thieves and their rebellious spirit.
## Conclusion
Persona 5 Strikers offers fans of the series a new adventure with the beloved characters from Persona 5. While the narrative may not reach the same heights as the original game, the game still delivers an enjoyable experience that blends together the best elements of Persona 5 with the action-packed gameplay of a Musou game. If you’re a fan of Persona 5 and looking for more adventures with the Phantom Thieves, Persona 5 Strikers is definitely worth checking out.
