I made these copper amethyst earring for my 500 subscribers | Electroforming

Materials Used

In this video, I used copper wire, amethyst crystals, a ball peen hammer, a wooden mandrel, a butane torch, water, pickling solution, Wrap ‘n Tap pliers, nippers, copper braising alloy, DIY texturing hammer, rubber hammer, CA glue, Apoxie sculpt, isopropyl alcohol, conductive paint, liquid latex, and liver of sulfur.

Creating the Earrings

After preparing all the materials, I started by bending the copper wire using a wooden mandrel and a butane torch. Once the wire was pliable, I shaped it using Wrap ‘n Tap pliers and nippers.

Adding Texture

To add texture to the earrings, I used a DIY texturing hammer and a rubber hammer. This step helped create a unique and visually appealing design.

Protecting the Crystals

Before attaching the amethyst crystals to the earrings, I explained the importance of protecting them with liquid latex. This step prevents copper sulfate from penetrating the crystals and potentially damaging them.

Finishing Touches

After attaching the crystals, I submerged the earrings in a bath of water and liver of sulfur for several hours. This process helped achieve a beautiful patina on the copper.
