Building a well in the forest

Water is a luxury in these conditions

Last year, a 7-meter deep well was dug by the guys. It’s time to restore the well to its good condition. To make the work easier, I light an anti-mosquito device, which really helps.

Protecting the well

It was recommended to do some soft paving around the well to prevent rain and muddy water from entering inside. Marking the vertical line to screw the beams that will hold the roof together is essential.

Building the roof

Using a threaded rod to connect the concrete and wood, as the right length bolts were not found. Cutting the beams is not easy, but it is possible. Trying out using a circular saw for the first time was a success.

Finishing touches

Covering the roof with plywood that was brought a year ago and finding the right length bolts saved the hassle of cutting metal. Bringing in stones to the area was also necessary to complete the well.

Masonry work

Attaching the brick to ensure the bucket is fully submerged in the water, washing the stone for better adhesion, and enduring the cold water while working on the stone masonry process.

Final adjustments

Trying to create a twister bucket, protecting the parts that will come into contact with water, and experimenting with different lifting methods for the bucket.

Completion

The heavy well cover is a final touch to prevent unauthorized access. Thank you for joining me in this project, and stay tuned for more episodes in the future.
