Grossman School of Business Academic Overview Session
# Welcome to Grossman School of Business Orientation Session
## Introduction
All right, welcome everybody. My name is Lindsay, one of the academic advisors here at the Grossman School of Business. We’re here to give you the rundown on all things Grossman School of Business before you start college.
## Getting Started
If this is your first interaction with our office since being admitted, or if you’ve had a few encounters with us already, we’re glad you’re here and we want to support you. Being in a virtual space can be complex, so make sure you have a pen and paper ready to take notes as we go through this presentation.
## Tour of Teams
For those unfamiliar with Teams, we’ll give you a quick tour of the platform to help you navigate through the session effectively. From the participant bar to the mute and unmute functions, we’ll cover it all.
## Objectives
During this session, we aim to:
– Introduce you to the CSS team and a student intern
– Help you understand the components of your business administration major
– Explain the degree requirements for GSB and UVM
– Identify opportunities for involvement in GSB
– Review next steps and action items
– Answer any questions you may have
## Meet the Team
While most of our colleagues couldn’t join us today, Sam Williams, the Dean of Student Services, and Will Herrera Jackson, our student intern, are here to greet you. They will be guiding you through the session and providing valuable insights from a student perspective.
## Business Administration Curriculum
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Grossman School of Business has a pyramid structure curriculum. The foundational level consists of basic business core courses to provide you with essential business knowledge. As you progress, you’ll move on to business field courses that focus on functional aspects of business, such as operations management, supply chain, and marketing analysis.
## Conclusion
As you embark on your journey at Grossman School of Business, we are here to support you every step of the way. Feel free to reach out to us for any questions or guidance as you navigate through your academic and professional development. Welcome to the Grossman School of Business family!
